There is a type-written label on the front that reads: "SHIPMAN'S ANIMALS LEAVING COOLIN, ID. FOR THE SAN DIEGO ZOO. 1925". However, Nell Shipman is standing on the deck so this image shows the animals being shipped up lake by Sam Byar' barge The photograph shows a barge with animal cages and crates, with many stacked one on top of another. One of the crates has "Danger" written on it and there are 3 or 4 bystanders. |
