Amelia (Amy) Daubert Gumaer. " A famr girl from easter Washington who was determined not to marry a farmer." Worked in Spokane, met Leonard Paul who offered her a job as post mistress. Arrived March 1923 on a horse drawn sled. She meet her husband Robert (Bob) Gumaer there. During the depression, they lived in the Gumaer cabin up on the Coolin hill. Daughter Josephine went to first grade in Coolin. Picture shows Amy on the Coolin waterfront standing on a board in a dress holding a large hat. |
