This is the Tonnet family near Lamb Creek. The couple on the porch are Mr. and Lily Tonnet. Their grandchildren include Ella Irene Taulman in the middle. When the Hungate family was rowing down from camping at the Upper Lake, they passed Mrs. Tonnet fishing on a log boom. She called out, "It's going to storm, you better stop in." The Hungates spent the night. The Tonnet family never proved up their claim. However, they operated a marina in Coolin from 1910-1926 according to family members. While on the homestead, the daughter remembers going by rowboat to the school in Coolin. See 2015.50.1 |
